Growing forests with the people who care for them

Semaian Rimba Forestry links tree planting, a working forest tree nursery, community capacity building, and mapping of restoration and conservation areas.

How the work connects

Planting, nurseries, people, and maps

Reforestation

Tree planting on degraded land

We carry out reforestation and tree planting on degraded and recovering landscapes, with planting sites documented as the work progresses.

Community

Capacity building alongside planting

Reforestation training is shared with community members so local people can take part in planting, nursery work, and ongoing stewardship.

Mapping

Mapping restoration and conservation areas

Our technical services include geographic mapping of restoration and conservation areas, supporting planning for the sites we work on and beyond.

Forest tree nursery

Hardy forest saplings, cultivated on site

Our nursery propagates forest tree saplings from seed through to hardy stock ready for planting. The same operation supports our restoration work and supplies saplings to partner initiatives.

We also collect rare fruits as part of our wider ecological activity, sitting alongside restoration and conservation work.
